Individual Tube Offerings
The form is used to provide details about your Tube Offering. The following fields
are required to be filled out: Shape, Type of Steel, Dimensions (in inches, which can be entered
as a decimal or fraction), Wall, Weight, and Location (city and state/province abbreviation,
separated by a comma). The Price is in US
dollars per piece, unless otherwise specified. Any additional information about
the Tube can be included in the Description field.
Multiple Tube Offerings - Automatic Data Entry
As a Tube supplier, you have the option to add, edit, and remove your Tube offerings
by uploading an Excel spreadsheet with descriptions of your Tubes. The spreadsheet
should have one row for each Tube offering, with the data for each offering in its
own columns. Steel Spider will read the file row by row and automatically add the
offerings to the Inventory. The layout of the file, including the order and location
of the columns, is determined by the supplier. This layout file is usually an Excel
spreadsheet that you are already using or that can be easily exported from your
inventory database. In some cases, a text file may also be accepted. By using this
method, you can easily and efficiently update your Tube offerings on the Steel Spider
platform.
If you are considering using this Automatic Data Entry Process you need to
Register first and then attach your Tube inventory file to
info@steelspider.com.
Before you can use the Excel spreadsheet method to add, edit, or remove your Tube offerings,
we need to set up the site to recognize the layout and other information about your
file. There is no cost to set this up, and we offer a free trial period so that
you can try out this method and see if it is a useful tool for managing your Tube
Offerings on the Steel Spider platform. This trial period allows you to evaluate
whether using this method is a good fit for your business without incurring any
charges.
The file format for your Tube offerings can be either Excel or Text, depending on
what you use internally. Simply send us the file that you currently use, and we
will set up the processing of the file on the site and guide you through the process.
If your company uses codes or abbreviations, such as for location or grades, let
us know what these codes represent, and we can configure the site to recognize and
replace them with more descriptive terms for your Tubes. You can keep the codes
in your file and don't need to "clean up" the data. Using this method of providing
your Tube offerings also allows us to customize how they appear on the site and
provide more information, such as links to pictures of the Tubes on your website.
If you have any questions or need assistance with this process, please don't hesitate
to ask.
You need to periodically update your Tube offerings to ensure that your Tube being
advertised is still available. If you
haven't returned to this page to check on your tube for 30 days we will email you
a reminder to update your tube or
confirm your tube's continued availability. If no confirmation is received, we will
remove your tube.
Add/Change/Remove Multiple Tube Offerings - Automatic Data Entry
Some suppliers may find it easier and faster to automate the process of providing
your Tube offerings. To add your Tube Offerings you upload an Excel file with information
describing each Tube on a single row. The uploaded file is processed and automatically
added to the Inventory. The Layout of the uploaded file needs to be defined so the
site knows where the appropriate information can be found. Our goal if for you to
provide a file with a layout that is easiest for you to prepare. We tailor the automation
process to handle your layout. A walk-through describing the options for handling
Multiple Tube Offerings is provided in
Show Help for
this Page above. To add, edit or remove your Tube Offerings when you upload
subsequent files we remove the Tube from a previous file and replace it with the
Tube in the current file.
Below is a listing of the files that have been setup to use with the Automatic Data
Entry process.
When you upload your tube here, only the tube from your file will be displayed in
the grid above so you can edit or delete individual items. Tube you add using the
grid ("+ Add Your Tube to the Multi-Supplier Inventory") or with a file using the
Steel Spider Specified Column Layout will not be displayed at this time. A button
will appear at the top right of the grid that will let you view and edit all your
tube on the site if other methods were used to add Tube to the Inventory.
