Individual Coil Offerings
The form is used to provide details about your Coil Offering. The following fields
are required to be filled out: Type, Dimensions (in inches, which can be entered
as a decimal or fraction), Weight, and Location (city and state/province abbreviation,
separated by a comma). The Dimensions, Weight, Pieces, Description, Price, Tag No,
and Location fields are used to describe your Coil offering. The Price is in US
dollars per piece, unless otherwise specified. Any additional information about
the Coil can be included in the Description field. Please make sure to accurately
fill out all required fields in order to effectively advertise your Coil.
Multiple Coil Offerings - Automatic Data Entry
As a Coil supplier, you have the option to add, edit, and remove your Coil offerings
by uploading an Excel spreadsheet with descriptions of your Coils. The spreadsheet
should have one row for each Coil offering, with the data for each offering in its
own columns. Steel Spider will read the file row by row and automatically add the
offerings to the Inventory. The layout of the file, including the order and location
of the columns, is determined by the supplier. This layout file is usually an Excel
spreadsheet that you are already using or that can be easily exported from your
inventory database. In some cases, a text file may also be accepted. By using this
method, you can easily and efficiently update your Coil offerings on the Steel Spider
platform.
If you are considering using this Automatic Data Entry Process you need to
Register first and then attach your Coil inventory file to
info@steelspider.com.
Before you can use the Excel spreadsheet method to add, edit, or remove your Coil offerings,
we need to set up the site to recognize the layout and other information about your
file. There is no cost to set this up, and we offer a free trial period so that
you can try out this method and see if it is a useful tool for managing your Coil
Offerings on the Steel Spider platform. This trial period allows you to evaluate
whether using this method is a good fit for your business without incurring any
charges.
The file format for your Coil offerings can be either Excel or Text, depending on
what you use internally. Simply send us the file that you currently use, and we
will set up the processing of the file on the site and guide you through the process.
If your company uses codes or abbreviations, such as for location or grades, let
us know what these codes represent, and we can configure the site to recognize and
replace them with more descriptive terms for your Coils. You can keep the codes
in your file and don't need to "clean up" the data. Using this method of providing
your Coil offerings also allows us to customize how they appear on the site and
provide more information, such as links to pictures of the Coils on your website.
If you have any questions or need assistance with this process, please don't hesitate
to ask.
It is important to regularly review and update your Coil offerings to ensure that
the Coils you are advertising are still available for purchase. If it has been 30
days since you last visited the page to check on your Coils, you will receive a
reminder email asking you to confirm their availability or update their listing.
If no confirmation is received, the Coils will be removed from the page.
Add/Change/Remove Multiple Coil Offerings - Automatic Data Entry
For some suppliers, it is more efficient to automate the process of providing
your Coil offerings on the Steel Spider platform. To do this, you can upload an
Excel file with information about each Coil on a separate row. The uploaded file
will be automatically processed and added to the Inventory. In order to correctly
interpret the data in the file, the layout of the file needs to be known, so the
site knows where to find the relevant information. Generally
the automation process can handle the layout that is most convenient for you to
use.
To add, edit, or remove your Coil Offerings using this method, you can simply upload
a new file that includes any updates or changes. The previous file will be replaced
with the current file, which will remove any Coils that are no longer being offered
and add any new Coils that have been included.
Below is a listing of the files that have been setup for you to use with the Automatic
Data
Entry process.
