Steel Spider can send Inquiries or Requests for Quote (RFQ) on behalf of steel buyers
to many suppliers at the same time.
Only use this form to Inquire about the availability of specific types and amounts
of steel.
Preparation of the Inquiry involves the following steps:
- Select the Form and Type of Steel.
- Describe your Inquiry.
- Identify the delivery point or location of use.
- Identify the recipients of your Inquiry.
- Attach a File (Optional).
- Send the Inquiry.
Select the Form and Type of Steel - When you select the Form and
Type of Steel that is the subject of your Inquiry, we identify which suppliers using
Steel Spider have indicated an interest in receiving Inquiries for the form and
type selected. Note that in the Steel Form we added the forms of "Coil - Stainless"
and "Sheet - Stainless" to address Stainless grades of Steel.
Describe your Inquiry - The description of your Inquiry should
contain as much detail about what you are looking for as you can provide. (You can
also attach a file to the Inquiry if that would provide further clarity.)
Identify the delivery point or location of use - This helps the
supplier determine whether distance is a factor regarding the steel in question.
Identify the recipients of your Inquiry. - You can send the Inquiry
to suppliers using Steel Spider who are interested in receiving Inquiries as well
as suppliers in your Personal Contact List, or both.
If you want your Inquiry to go to all the suppliers who have indicated an interest
in receiving your Inquiry, check the box next to "Send Inquiry to Suppliers on Steel
Spider". You can also designate which of these suppliers your Inquiry is sent to
by pressing "Select Specific Suppliers" This will allow you to check which suppliers
receive your Inquiry and even limit the list to those suppliers located within a
certain distance from a Zip or Postal Code.
To send you Inquiry to your Personal Contact List, use the dropdown box to select
"All your Contacts" or the specific group that will receive the Inquiry.
Attach a File - You can attach Text (.txt), Adobe (.pdf), Excel
(.xlsx, .xls or .csv), or Word (.docx or .doc) files to your Inquiry to provide
further information about your request. Click on Attach a File. Press the Browse
button and select the file on your computer. Press Save to close the window and
the filename should appear in the box next to the Browse button. Press Upload the
file to send it to Steel Spider so we can attach it to your Inquiry.
Send the Inquiry - Review the summary of your Inquiry and if it
looks OK, press "Send your Inquiry" and your Inquiry will be sent to those you selected.
Be patient. If your Inquiry is being distributed to a large nember of sellers, it
may take a while to create the emails and place them in a queue to be distributed
within the next few minutes.
