Personalize Overview

This section is where you personalize the Steel Spider website with your personal information and manage your activity on the site.

Register - When you register you provide information that allows you to be contacted either by buyers, sellers and Steel Spider. It does not cost anything to register. Registration allows you to use certain features where your contact information is needed. Registration allows Buyers to receive email or fax Inventory Change Alerts when the steel offered for sale in the Multi-Supplier Inventory changes. Registration is required to send an Inquiry and to bid in Auctions. Sellers need to register to advertise their steel in the inventory, to send Offerings, to receive Inquiries and to run Auctions.

Login - To Login, place your complete email address in the Login/Email box and place your password in the Password box and press the Login Button.

Retrieve Your Password - If you have misplaced your password, we will send your password to your email address.

Edit Your Registration Info - After you have registered, you can update your contact information here.

Change Notification Method - Steel Spider can send certain messages to you by fax instead of or in addition to email. We require your prior consent to send marketing and business communications and other material via fax. Your consent is to be provided in writing using the Fax Consent Form.

Change Password - When your registered you selected a password to identify yourself. You can change your password here.

Change Email Address - When you registered you used your email address as your login name. If your email address changes, you can change it here.

Manage Your Contact List - You can maintain a list of your personal contacts on Steel Spider. This list of contacts is used by sellers to identify the approved bidders in auctions and to send Offerings. Buyers can use the Contact List to send inquiries to some or all of the people in their Contact List.

Additional Personalization Functions

Manage Your Steel - Manage Your Steel is where you change and remove your steel items in the Multi-Supplier Inventory. We require that a seller periodically confirm that their steel being advertised is still available. You can push a single button and extend the deletion date to 30 days. We may send a reminder to a seller to confirm their steel's availability. If no confirmation is received, we will remove the seller's steel after the deletion date.

Inventory Change Alerts - Inventory Change Alert is a free service for Registered buyers that automatically alerts a buyer when steel matching his requirements is first added to the Steel Spider inventory. Describe characteristics of the steel you are looking for in a manner similar to that used to search for steel in Search for Steel.

Receive Offerings - In order to receive Offerings from sellers, buyers need to indicate their interest in receiving Offerings for specific forms and types of steel. There is no charge to buyers to receive Offerings from sellers.

Receive Inquiries - In order to receive Inquiries from buyers, sellers need to indicate their interest in receiving Inquiries for specific forms and types of steel.

Receive Auction Notifications - When a seller sets up an auction that will be visible to Authorized bidders and others he can send an Auction Notification to steel buyers interested in steel of the same type as is up for auction.

Manage Facility Directory - Sellers can add their company to the Facility Directory. In addition to basic contact information you can describe the products you carry as well as the processing services you perform. There is no charge to include your company in the Facility Directory.

In addition to receiving Spider Bites, Inventory Change Alerts, Offerings an Inquiries by email or fax, you can view those that you received on Steel Spider in Spider Bites You Received, Inventory Change Alerts You Received, Offerings You Received and Inquiries You Received.
