Steel Offering Overview
Offering is a platform where sellers use Steel Spider to send steel
offerings by email. Sellers can use Steel Spider to send offerings to buyers using
Steel Spider who are interested in receiving them as well as to buyers in your
Contact List. Offerings sent by email can include
an attachment to further describe the Offering.
Sellers currently sending an inventory list by email to potential buyers can use
this feature to also send their inventory list to those buyers using Steel Spider.
This is also a way to advertise your steel's availability to buyers when it does
not lend itself to display in the Inventory (large quantities sold as a single lot,
special deals, truck, railcar, or barge quantities). Offering also covers steel
forms that are not addressed in the Inventory such as grating and scrap. Sellers
can currently send offerings without charge.
View Recent Offerings is chronological listing of
recent offerings sent to buyers using Steel Spider within the past week or two.
Click on the Select button to see more information about an offering and the contact
information of the supplier. Offerings are removed automatically after two weeks.
Attachments are not physically attached to the Offering. The email will contain
a link to any attachment included with the Offering and you can download the attachment
from this website.
Receive Offerings
In order to receive Offerings by email, register or login and go to
Receive Offerings under Offering. Identify the types of steel you are interested
in seeing. Sellers will then be able to send Offerings to you that match your interests.
Offerings sent by email can include an attached file.

you selected.
Send an Offering
To send an Offering go to
Send an Offering under
Offering. Identify the Form and Type of steel you are offering and then use the
box to describe your offering. You are also able to include a file to provide additional
information about your Offering.
If your offering includes multiple steel forms or types, do not sent the offer multiple
times. Select the most applicable form and type and send the offering once. Otherwise
you risk sending your offering multiple times to buyers who have identified an interest
in multiple forms and types of steel.
You have two groups you can send your Offering to. You can select from a list of
buyers using Steel Spider who are interested in receiving offerings of the type
you are sending. You can send it to buyers you know in your
Contact List.
If you send your offering to buyers using Steel Spider, your offer will be displayed
in
View Recent Offerings under Offer so additional
buyers can see it. The listing is chronological based on when it was sent. Offerings
are removed automatically after two weeks. Offerings are sent by email. It is not
possible to retract or cancel an Offering after it is sent.
