Steel Spider's tag line is "Building Relationships in Excess and Secondary Steel".
One of our goals is to facilitate the ability of Steel Spider users to network and
develop relationships with each other. We do this by advertising a steel seller's
company and their steel and making it easy for a buyer to contact the seller. Complementary
to this process are the networking opportunities provided by associations targeting
those in the steel Industry. One of these Associations is the Association of Steel
Distributors (ASD) that the users of Steel Spider should be aware of to broaden
their networking opportunities.
Calendar of Upcoming Steel Networking
Events.
Steel Spider has a Calendar of Upcoming
Steel Networking Events that lists the upcoming regional meetings of the
Association of Steel Distributors and other Associations. Steel Spider is a member
of the Association of Steel
Distributors (ASD) and tries to attend all of their regional networking
meetings. ASD has regional meetings in Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Chicago
and Cincinnati. Companies that are not members of ASD can have one person from the
company attend one ASD Meeting per year if they are considering joining ASD. If
your company has not attended an ASD meeting and you are considering joining, you
can be a guest of Steel Spider by letting us know your interest in attending. ASD
charges non-members (typically $130 per meeting) so this would be Dutch Treat. If,
for some reason we cannot attend, we will identify someone in ASD to meet you at
the meeting and introduce you to some of the members.

next ASD Regional Meeting is in Chicago on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 featuring
John Packard, the Founder of Steel Market Update as the speaker. Email us at

The next day the 22nd Annual Loeffel
Epilepsy Golf Benefit is being held in Lake Geneva, WI. sponsored by Loeffel
Steel to raise money for Epilepsy (2 hours drive north of Chicago). This event supports
a good cause and provides further networking opportunities. Contact

Association of Steel Distributors
(ASD) New Member Discount
To encourage companies to join and become members of the Association of Steel Distributors (ASD), Steel Spider will
provide the 3 months of use of Steel Spider at no charge to any new members of ASD.

Date Entry process to transfer steel descriptions in a file into the searchable
