Registration is free. Registration allows you to use certain features of this site where your contact information is needed.

We send invoices monthly or quarterly at the beginning of the month due at the end of the month. At this time we do not accept credit cards. Payment is made in US dollars to Mountain Hawk Corporation that owns and operates the Steel Spider Website.

There is no charge for steel buyers to use Steel Spider. There is no charge to use the following services relating to buying steel:

Search for Steel in the searchable Multi-Supplier Inventory and contact the seller directly about any steel of interest.
Receive Inventory Alerts by email about steel added to the searchable Multi-Supplier Inventory that matches your criteria.
Bid on Sealed Bid Auctions
Receive Offerings from Steel Sellers by email by signing up to identify the types of Offerings you are interested in.
Send Inquiries to Steel Sellers by email to multiple sellers who have identified an interest in receiving Inquiries for the types of steel that you are inquiring about.

There is currently no charge to use the following services relating to selling steel:

Add Steel to Multi-Supplier Inventory by adding each item individually to the searchable Multi-Supplier Inventory.
Send an email Offering to Multiple Buyers who have identified an interest in receiving Offerings for the types of steel that you are offering.

We charge a seller a monthly or quarterly fixed fee to provide certain advertising and sales lead services. For any of the services we charge for, we also provide a trial period so you can evaluate any of the services prior to making a committment.

Receive Inquiries

We charge a seller $100 US per quarter (or $40 per month) to receive Inquiries. If multiple people in the same office all wish to receive Inquiries, we charge $200 per quarter. Sellers can receive Inquiries without charge for a period of time sufficient to evaluate the potential value of these Inquiries to the seller. A seller can receive inquiries without charge until we contact him. A seller will not be invoiced for receiving Inquiries until after he authorizes us to invoice.

Spider Bites are messages sent through Steel Spider where a buyer is responding to a specific item in the searchable Inventory. Spider Bites are not considered Inquiries and there is no charge to send or receive a Spider Bite.

Border Ads

Sellers and others can have their company logo appear randomly on each page of Steel Spider. The logo links to the seller's website or we can set up a Company Profile page that the logo can link to is the seller provides the content for the page. We charge $100 US per month to display your logo in a Border Ad. This also entitles you to use the Automatic Data Entry.

Automatic Data Entry

Sellers using the Automatic Data Entry process can manage their steel by providing a file. This avoids the need to indivually add each item using the form to Add Steel to Multi-Supplier Inventory. The steel from the previous file is deleted and the steel in the new file is added to the Multi-Supplier Inventory. We charge $100 US per month to use the Automatic Data Entry process. This also includes the ability of the seller to display a Border Ad. Let us know if you are interested in a free trial of the Automatic Data Entry process.

If a Seller using the Automatic Data Entry process to post their steel in our searchable Inventory has one or more people in his company at his location receiving inquiries we only charge for one person receiving inquiries. Additional people in his company and at the same office can receive Inquiries at no additional charge. This works out to $400 per quarter regardless of the number of people at the subscriber's location receiving Inquiries.

Setup/Run/Award Sealed Bid Auction

Our Sealed Bid Auction platform uses and builds on many of the features developed for Steel Spider. The sealed bid auction process includes describing your auction and the steel being auctioned, uploading a file describing your steel in detail, announcing your steel using our Offering platform, selecting which bidders ae awarded steel, notifying successful and unsuccessful bidders, displaying your logo as a border ad and using the Automatic Data Entry process to add any unsold steel to the searchable inventory.

Signing up to use the Sealed Bid Auction platform enables a seller to use all of the services on Steel Spider available to a seller for a flat fee of $300 per month. Let us know if you are interested in a free trial of the Sealed Bid Auction platform.
