
This practice auction demonstrations how a multiple item auction operates.
This practice auction is set up with the seller's minimum acceptable bid for each
item of $25 - the minimum amount the seller will accept to sell the item. The minimum
bid increment is $.25. When the auction starts Current High Bid is is the seller's
minimum acceptable bid less the minimum bid increment. The first bidder needs to
bid $25 (the seller's minimum acceptable bid) or more to be the high bidder. The
bidding period for practice auction is 5 minutes.
During the demonstration auction you can take the role of the seller, one of three
invited bidders or that of a visitor. Press the buttons below to change roles.
This practice auction is a visible invitational auction. The seller determines who
can bid by identifying the email addresses of his authorized bidders. For this demonstration
auction three bidders have been authorized by the seller. This demonstration auction
is visible so visitors can view the auction but can not bid. Visitors can request
that the seller authorize them to bid.
The seller determines whether the auction is visible to visitors and potential bidders
or only to authorized bidders.
Proxy bidding does not apply. In the event of tie bids, the first bid submitted
will be applied.
The duration of the bidding period is fixed and is not extended. Don't wait until
the last moment to submit your bid or it may not be accepted.
At the close of the bidding period, the high bid amount and the email address of
the bidder with the high bid is provided to the seller. The bids or ranking of the
other bidders in the auction is not disclosed to the Seller. The identity of the
winning bidder is not disclosed to the other bidders.
If your current bid is greater than the high bid for an item and you are not the
current high bidder, your bid needs to be increased to an amount equal to or greater
than the high bid plus the minimum bid increment.
